Please remove your cabanas, tents, umbrellas and other structures before 7:00 PM each evening. This will allow the sea turtles to crawl onto the beach at night to lay their eggs and allow the beach machines to clean the entire beach the next morning.
Call (850-232-3640) to report a nest location.

DESTIN, Fla. (AP) - Divers on a tour boat got a rare look at a humpback whale off the Florida Panhandle. The whale was sighted breaking the water's surface about a mile off Crystal Beach on Saturday. State wildlife officials say the whale was about 35 to 40 feet long and appeared to be in good health.

Sailing With Sora

Father daughter circumnavvies...headed for Vanuatu, Papua New Guinea, The Solomons and then over to Darwin in late July for the rally through Indonesia to Phuket, Thailand in November.
Great blog, they are from Pensacola Beach !!
Did I say Vanuatu? Cassie 05/17/2008
Well, I meant New Caledonia. This afternoon we changed our course from 330 toward Port Vila,Vanuatu to 280 in the hopes of landing in Ile des Pins, New Caledonia. We've heard word of a nasty low developing tomorrow evening and have made the proper arrangements to avoid it all together. Ahhh, the joys of a flexible schedule... Now we get to see a whole other country that wasn't even on the itinerary! We are planning a sneak attack on one of the outlying islands in order to strategically avoid the whole check in ordeal with the Gendarmarie, unless the weather continues to be less than cooperative. In the case of progress impeded, we will hang our coats and stay a while probably in Noumea. We reckon landfall about 3pm tomorrow.
Cheers to unexpected jutter bars(kiwi for speed bumps), Cass
